Here at KMBI, We aim to empower
We support women microentrepreneurs for we believe in their potential to make a difference in this country. We train women microentrepreneurs grow their businesses and be sustainable. We inspire them to help others and to take care of the environment. We teach them to set good examples to their children. We lead them to worship God through being the best that they can. We do this for we believe that, through them, positive changes can happen.
Empowerment starts in being informed
The world bank states that one vital Ingredient to empower people is giving access them to relevant information., We do this by giving our clients venue for discussions through entrep centers while our staff facilitates livelihood programs and give away free publications. We also hold summits to invite industry leaders to share their knowledge to our program members.
Empowerment is about participating
Through the years, we have learned that the best way to mobilize communities is to encourage everyone to participate and for the people within the community to make decisions themselves. Through our community development projects, we listen to their needs first, then facilitate enterprise development activities. We want them to own the project. This develops long term commitment and determines its success. This also deepens our partnership with the community.
Empowerment is beingunited as one
When 30 plus women create an ENTREP center, they start to realize their own power when everyone works for a single purpose. Local government units start to recognize their presence and voice. It is easier to be linked to other groups and institutions and use their number to leverage for services. KMBI has been witness to the power of the group of these women, especially when they consolidate their meager resources to serve those who have lesser resources. Some socio-civic activities they do are the mass feeding of street children, clean up drives, tree planting activities and relief efforts during natural calamities.
