EDS delivers Livelihood training to 34 branches

EDS or Entrepreneurship Development Services reached a total of 1,235 participating clients for its livelihood training project. With the aim to give clients the desire to dream big, have the passion to grow, and help in job and income generation for the community, EDS project served areas of Calabarzon 1 & 2, Caraga, Cebu, Davao, Leymarbo, NCR North, SOCKSARGEN, North Luzon East and West, Pampanga, and Rizal for the third quarter of the year.

 

The livelihood training consists of Basic Entrepreneurship Orientation, Entrepreneurial Assessment, Budgeting and Savings coupled with livelihood skills training workshop.  Livelihood Training Workshop topic ranges from Food (Meat Processing and Chocolate Molding) to Non-food (Candle Making, Bead Craft, Dishwashing Liquid, Detergent Bar and Powder production) as well as services (Massage Therapy to be offered at Bicol Area).

According to Belen Sison, EDD manager, one of the goals of this project is for the clients to have awareness on entrepreneurship; and initially grow in their mindset from being a livelihood oriented entrepreneur to a growth-oriented entrepreneur. “The success of the program will not be determined only thru the number of trainings conducted rather on the impact of the program to the lives of the clients,” said Sison.

The livelihood training is a collaborative effort of the Branch and EDS. The Branch has the option in choosing the livelihoodtraining intervention, inviting participants up to encouraging and monitoring if the attendees pursue the new business idea generated out of the training.
