Two Gapan branch program members joined the colorful “Tsinelas Festival” held at Gapan City, Nueva Ecija in August. The festival was marked by a colorful parade of giant slippers float made by local producers.
Leonora dela Cruz and Agnes Ocampo, both local slippers producers, showcased their giant slippers during the parade. Programs members of KMBI are usually encouraged to join such festivities to help promote their products in the community.
“With the increased exposure of our client’s products in these festivals, more women in the community are interested to join our program,” said Celeste Religioso, Gapan branch manager.
She added that in this activity, KMBI also took the opportunity to promote the organization’s thrust by mounting ENTREP poster in the float to re-introduce its program among other local producers in the community.
The Tsinelas Festival is a concerted effort by the city government to boost its claim as the slipper capital of the north
