KMBI-Haggai Seminar Culminates with 29 New Graduates

KMBI, in partnership with APPEND and the Philippine Haggai Institute Alumni Association Metro Manila Chapter, mounted the National Leadership Seminar which ran from June 24-28, 2019 at La Breza Hotel, Mother Ignacia Avenue, Quezon City.

29 attendees are now Haggai Philippines National graduates who are bounded by this principle to be Disciples of Christ and Christ's living testimonies to other men. The 5-day seminar was also joined by Atty. Aleth Joyce Cubacub, Ms. Marie Paz Abante, Ms. Eppie Acosta, Ms. Mae T. Young and Dr. Jasmin Jamora.

The seminar is aimed at establishing evangelical foundations, equipping the servant leaders attending the seminar with the necessary skill set needed for them to go out evangelizing people in their communities and workplace.

Foreign Delegates from Lausanne Global Movement Visit KMBI

KMBI welcomed 21 delegates of Lausanne Global Movement from different countries who went for an exposure visit at the KMBI Panay Office, 130 Panay Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City. The Training and Advanced Education Department and the Spiritual Development Division of the Transformational Development and Training Group (TDTG) spearheaded the visit.

Ms. Hazel Christine Bayaca, Deputy Executive Director for Transformational Development and Training Group (TDTG), introduced the financial and non-financial services of the organization to the delegates. Ms. Bayaca also shared how KMBI deliver its transformational agenda through these services.

The delegates also visited one of KMBI’s centers (WAB-A109) of West Avenue Branch under the supervision of Program Unit Head (PUH) Mr. Cyrus Cajayon. This allowed the delegates to observe center meeting practices and discussions, and personally interact with the Program Members to see the world in the lens of the entrepreneurial poor.

Lausanne is a global movement which aims to raise Christlike leaders for every church, and raise influential leaders to have an impact in the society. The exposure activity is meant to give delegates an insight on the corporate approach to Integral Transformation and how businesses can integrate Transformational Development into their operations.

KMBI Celebrates Ganding’s Citi Microentrepreneurship Award in GenSan

KMBI, together with the Microfinance Council of the Philippines (CMA) and Citibank Foundation, celebrated the victory of Ms. Marisa Ganding for being hailed as Special Awardee for Start-up Microbusinesses during the Citi Microentrepreneurship Awards in December 2018. The town hall celebration was held at Mix N' Magic Restaurant, General Santos City last March 24, 2019.

Ms. Ganding, a spa owner with three branches in Mindanao and counting, spoke of how KMBI became part of her achievement. She thanked the institution for giving her an opportunity to develop her business, taking her to where she is right now.

Following the celebration was a whole day of intensive enterprise training courtesy of Bayan Academy, participated by 50 KMBI Program Members.

Among those gracing the occasion were KMBI President, Mr. Eduardo C. Jimenez; MCPI Executive Director, Mr. Allan Robert Sicat and City Councilor, Atty. Jun Lagare. This event was also made possible by the efforts of the Credit Operations Group and the Entrepreneurial Development Division under the Transformational Development and Training Group.

Ms. Ganding was the 2017 winner of the KMBI Story Caravan, a search for outstanding microentrepreneurs and a platform to recognize their contributions in their communities.

BFP Conducts Fire Safety and Earthquake Drill at KMBI Head Office

KMBI conducted its annual Fire Safety and Earthquake Drill last June 28 at KMBI Panay Office. The lecture was in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Paligsahan Fire Station. Fire officer Marvin Lamban led the orientation to the KMBI employees.

The BFP provides orientation to different organizations, establishments and households to impart basic knowledge on the nature and behavior of fire and to be familiar with the proper response procedures during fire emergency. This will also help increase awareness on fire safety and be more prepared in case of a fire incident. The BFP is also mandated to prevent and suppress destructive fires, conduct investigation, provide emergency medical and rescue services.

The fire and earthquake drill is in compliance with Republic Act 9514, otherwise known as the Fire Code of the Philippines of 2008, which mandates educating people on fire safety procedures and protocols.
