KMBI Kicks Off PM2PM Mentoring Program

KMBI, in collaboration with Ms. Lydia Malot, one of the outstanding clients of KMBI and 2015 CMA National Winner, conducted two (2) batches of livelihood training on Nata De Coco Processing at Metro Davao 2 Branch on November 7-8, 2019, attended by a total of 42 Program Members. Participants were given a Nata De Coco Business start-up kit after the training.

This activity is part of the new program of the Entrepreneurial Development Division, called "Program Member to Program Member (PM2PM) Mentoring" under the KMBI Success Circle Program, in which growth-oriented Program Members—whose enterprises have shown considerable progress—are selected to be mentors/coaches who are tasked to share their expertise and business practices to fellow Program Members in the form of livelihood training.

KMBI Partners with DTI, TESDA to Provide Livelihood Training for PMs

KMBI, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), held a Skills Training on Meat Processing and Seminar on Product Costing, Pricing, Packaging and Labelling last October 24, 2019 at Brgy. Villa Cruz Multi-purpose Hall, San Mateo, Isabela. 64 Program Members from Santiago Branch took part in the livelihood training.

Programs like these aim to help Program Members to acquire basic entrepreneurial skills that they may employ to generate profit and increase productivity. Through the initiatives of the Entrepreneurial Development Division of the Transformational Development and Training Group and KMBI Development Foundation Inc. (KDFI), more of these activities can be expected as KMBI continues to partner with the local government units in delivering bigger, broader, and more intensive non-financial services.

Centre for Self-help Development Delegates Visit KMBI

Eleven (11) Nepalese delegates from Centre for Self-help Development (CSD) went for an exposure visit today at the KMBI Panay Office, 130 Panay Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City as part of the Learning Exchange Program of the Microfinance Council of the Philippines.

Training and Advanced Education Director, Mr. Edwin B. Aruelo, oriented the participants on the microfinance processes in the Philippines adopted by KMBI.

The delegates were also given an opportunity to visit a KMBI ENTREP center from Quezon City 1 Branch to observe center meeting practices, with supervision of Branch Manager, Ms. Mary Grace Molina. They also got to interact directly with the Program Members who shared their personal experiences with KMBI’s approach to microfinance and transformation.

KMBI Management Committee Joins 7th Asia-Pacific Housing Forum in Thailand

KMBI delegates joined the 7th Asia-Pacific Housing Forum in Bangkok, Thailand organized by Habitat for Humanity last September 16-19, 2019.

The forum is aimed at building collaboration between organizations with the capacity to impact the low-cost housing sector in the Asia Pacific region.It also recognizes the importance of shelter as a driver of inclusion, resilience and sustainability in human settlements, and promotes innovative and high impact housing initiatives through the sharing of best practices.

The forum became a venue for KMBI key officers to pick up learnings from other players in the region, especially in positioning housing as a key driver of sustainable cities and communities.
